IMC in Fiji

Fiji is a Pacific island nation, and hence, its economic landscape is deeply tied to climate resilience and the sustainable use of its natural resources. The Pacific Green Entrepreneurs Network (PGEN) targets green and sustainable MSMEs through its 12-week virtual incubator program. Here, founders of early-stage green enterprises are matched to mentors who help develop highly scalable, repeatable business models.

In Fiji, government bodies like MSME Fiji facilitate business training, incubation, and mentoring. The Fiji Enterprise Engine (FEE), delivered by the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF), is the country’s first private-sector-led business incubator and accelerator. Another program, i.e., Fiji THRIVE—co-designed by BSP Financial Group and Australian Business Volunteers (ABV)—pairs promising local and women-led businesses with skilled business professionals for mentoring.

The International Mentoring Center Fiji is actively working with institutions and individuals alike to adopt the finest of global mentoring standards through its memberships and accreditations. IMA also conducts multiple networking events that bring forth the latest developments in the field of mentoring to everyone’s ears. Mentors in Fiji have exciting challenges ahead to transition the economy into export-ready enterprises to drive economic diversity through sustainable agriculture, niche manufacturing, and green technologies.

Accreditation Process

How Organizations in Fiji Can Get IMC Accreditation

To maintain the highest level of standards in global mentoring, IMC has a rigorous review system to audit your organization’s program quality as part of our strict accreditation process requirements in Fiji.

Your organization can opt to provide a mentoring program with more than 20 hours of training or a shorter one. This can get you a training accreditation or an endorsed training accreditation.

Your program must include mentoring skills and domain or knowledge development so as to be eligible for accreditation. Every program must incorporate the following three sections compulsorily:

The IMC Definition of Mentoring
The IMC Code of Conduct and Ethics
The IMC Core Competencies (minimum of 3 must for accreditation)

The programs must provide participants with the necessary skills for each credential and ensure that the trainer is the primary mentor supervisor for at least a year.

The accreditation will be valid for three years from the date of issue.

The Accreditation Application Flow

The entire accreditation application process takes around four to six weeks.

Stage 1: Organization Details

Stage 2: Program Details

Stage 3: Instructor Details

Stage 4: Terms and Conditions

Following a successful review, you’ll receive an email notification confirming your IMC accreditation status and a media kit to display your accreditation.
