IMC in French Polynesia

French Polynesia operates a centralized entrepreneurial ecosystem due to its geographical positioning. PRISM, a 12-month mentorship and acceleration program, is the main initiative supported by the territory’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services, and Trades (CCISM). This is super-charged by La French Tech Polyesie, which formally integrates the territory into the global French tech ecosystem.

Mentorship in French Polynesia is heavily focused on protecting and monetizing the ocean. Mentoring startups that build solutions for marine conservation, renewable energy grids, and plastic waste reduction is given priority. Also, to maintain global competitiveness, mentorship is utilized to help integrate digital tracking, e-commerce, and smart logistics into traditional economic pillars such as agriculture and the Tahitian black pearl industry.

IMC French Polynesia aligns with the mentoring ecosystem in the territory to bring it on par with the best globally. This also helps bring the territory out of its geographical isolation while integrating it with the French mainland ecosystem.

As of September 2026 · Sources: CCISM · La French Tech Polynésie · PRISM Incubator · Tech4Islands

MSME Resilience & Diversification

CCISM Advisory & Formalization

The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Trades (CCISM) actively provides essential mentoring to stabilize small businesses. This structured guidance helps traditional enterprises diversify beyond heavy reliance on tourism and pearl farming.

Navigating Regulatory Frameworks

Mentoring clinics guide local entrepreneurs and informal micro-businesses through complex French administrative and tax regulations, enabling them to secure formal status and successfully access institutional credit and territory-backed grants.

Supply Chain Modernization

1:1 advisory initiatives assist geographically isolated enterprises in adopting digital accounting and e-commerce tools, dramatically reducing supply chain friction and bridging the logistical gap between the islands and international markets.

Blue Economy & Tech Acceleration

PRISM Incubator Scaling

As French Polynesia's premier startup incubator, PRISM delivers intensive 6-to-12-month mentorship tracks. Founders receive direct coaching from industry veterans, turning localized innovation concepts into commercially viable operations.

Tech4Islands Global Reach

Mentorship through the La French Tech Polynésie ecosystem strictly prepares startups for the Tech4Islands framework. Advisers ready founders to pitch sustainable, eco-tech solutions for island economies to international investors.

Ocean Conservation Innovations

Specialized acceleration pipelines focus entirely on the "Blue Economy," providing maritime entrepreneurs with the scientific and business mentoring necessary to launch scalable renewable energy and marine preservation startups.

Women's Entrepreneurship & Leadership

Peer-to-Peer Network Building

Targeted initiatives connecting female founders provide critical peer-to-peer mentoring. This direct engagement breaks down systemic business barriers and combats the professional isolation often experienced in remote island geographies.

Capacity & Financial Literacy

Strategic advisory circles prioritize comprehensive financial literacy and operational management training, equipping women-led enterprises to scale regional artisan, service, and agricultural businesses sustainably.

Export & Digital Readiness

Mentors actively guide female entrepreneurs in leveraging digital marketing platforms to elevate local Polynesian products, expanding their customer base directly into the broader Francophone and Asia-Pacific markets.
